SchoolBitez offers multiple pricing configurations to give you full control over how Items are priced different for different Items, Schools and Grades with in a School. Here is an explanation of what determines the price of an Item. 

 

Global Factors that determine Item Pricing

 There are some system level configurations/ facts about how pricing works. Let's go over those configurations below before we go into Item Pricing flow. Here they are: -

All Meal Items have the possibility of being offered at a Global Price configured at System Level or School Level. This is referred to as Base Price in this article. 

       a) System Level Meal prices are configured under Setup > System Settings 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

       b)  System Level Meal Prices can be overridden at School Level under the School Detail page. 

 

 

 

How is Item Price determined 

Notes: 

This section only applies to Meal and Breakfast Item Types. All other item types always have a single price configured at Item Level or School Level. 

This section only applies to full price paying children. For children marked as Free or Reduced, please read the article here. 

This section only shows how Item price is determined. Depending upon how you have setup Portion Sizes, there may be additional Portion Price up charge applied to the item. 

 

1) Check if there is price configured for the Item for the given School in context (i.e. school the child attends). School specific item prices can be configured under School > Pricing tab, as shown below. 

 

   If the Item is found to have a price configured (i.e not empty) in the School pricing page, in that the case the configured price is used. 

 

2) If the condition in #1 does not apply, SchoolBitez will check if the Item has its own price configured in the Item definition. 

        a) Item specific price configured for specific portion sizes offered. 

   

 

        b) Item specific price configured irrespective of portion size.

 

         

3) If the condition in #2 does not apply i.e. Item has been setup with the Option Use Base Price as shown below, in that case the system will use the base Meal/ Breakfast price configured at School or System level.
