SchoolBitez offers multiple ways of controlling what portion sizes are offered for a given Student and Item. 

Here is how the flow works in the defined order: -

1) Check if the Item has Offers Portion Sizes check box checked. If checked, SchoolBitez will only offer the portion sizes offered for the Item, irrespective of the Child's Grade and School. 

    Using the example below, even though there are other portion sizes configured at System level, this specific Item only comes in One Size. 

 

 

2) If condition described in #1 above does not hold true, then the system will look at Portion Sizes defined at the Grade/ Room, the child attends. 

 

    Taking an example below, this Grade has been set up with the option Offer Selected Portion Sizes. Any child going to such a Grade will be offered portion sizes Regular and Large. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3) If condition #2, does not hold true i.e. the Grade has been setup with the option Offer All Portion Sizes, then the system will offer All Active Portion sizes that are marked as global. 

     To identify which Portion Sizes are marked as Global, go to Items > Meal Portions page and look for Portion Sizes that have Grade/ Item Specific Only set to No.
