SchoolBitez lets you offer different variations and options on an Item to your customers. These variations/ options are called Item Customizations. Item Customizations are also referred to as Item Modifiers or Add ons.

Here are a few examples of how Item Customizations can be used : -

a) Offering side options like Vegetarian option or Fruit Option on an Item.

b) Offering true modifiers like Extra Cheese, No Dairy, No Gluten on an Item.

c) Offering Advanced customizations like Choice of Meat, Choice of Bread on a Sandwich item which is fully customizable.

Item Customizations have their own Price attached to them. If an Order Item contains any user selected customizations, then the  customization price is reflected in the Item price charged to the Customer.

Two types of Customizations

You can chose to offer Item Customizations for each Item in two possible ways: -

Simple Customizations

For this type of customization, you will setup various Customizations by going to Items > Item Customizations page.

Once you have setup the desired Customizations you want to offer, you can now set those on the Items you want to offer these customizations on.

Use the Available Customizations field to set any customizations offered by the Item.

Advanced Customizations

Another way to offer Customizations on an Item is to create separate Groups or Categories of Customizations. To set up advanced customizations, click on the Advanced Customizations link next to the Available Customizations field on the Item page (see the screenshot above for reference).

This will open Advanced Customization builder UI where you can create your own Named Groups and add Customizations to each Group. See below, a screenshot of an Item with Advanced Customizations.
